Head Guide

Calendar Start Date: May 1st 2020

Dollar Rate of pay: $25-35 per hour (DOE)

Job Description: 

Riverside Adventures is looking for an experienced guide to become our head guide for the upcoming 2020 season.  This person will be tasked with customer safety on the river and will be a key player in the logistics of our company.  Some of the day to day activities included are: before trip preparation, equipment checks, safety talks, safe movement of customers around the river features, guide training, equipment maintenance, scheduling and coordinating logistics.   The Head Guide will also help with running the daily guide meetings.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 4 years in the industry with guiding experience on High Volume Class IV and V rivers.
  • Strong Kayaking skills an asset
  • Wilderness First Aid 50hr (80hr preferred), OFA level 3 will also be considered
  • Swiftwater Rescue Technician (or equivalent)
  • Valid class 5 drivers license (class IV preferred).
  • Supply your own river gear (pfd, helmet, river knife, throw bag, flip line and cold weather apparel)
  • If your SRT or WRT is expired we do require all our guides to complete our WRT course at the beginning of the season.  This is mandatory for all guides.

Guide / Safety Boater

Do you love working outside? Have a passion for the river? Outgoing? Energetic? Fantastic!! We are looking for you!

Job Description: 

Riverside Adventures is looking for a guide / safety boater for the upcoming 2020 season.  This person will be tasked with customer safety on the river and as such will have the necessary experience and qualifications.  Some day to day activities of the guide/ safety boater include: before trip preparation, equipment checks, learning safety talk, aiding in the safe movement of customers on the rafts around the river features, collecting and washing gear used, participation in guide meetings, and learning from the more experienced guides on the team.  Wage depends on experience.

Requirements:

  • Wilderness First Aid 50hr (80hr preferred), OFA level 3 will also be considered
  • Valid class 5 drivers license (class IV preferred)
  • Supply your own river gear (pfd, helmet, river knife, throw bag, flip line, kayak, and cold weather apparel)
  • Strong kayak skills considered a huge asset but not necessary
  • Previous rafting experience also a huge asset but not necessary
  • We are willing to train the right person

Office Staff

Job Description: 

Job description: Riverside Adventures is looking for someone experienced with office tasks such as using Microsoft office, taking payment from customers and making forms are filled out properly.  This person will also be tasked with occasional shuttle driving from the put in to the take out.  Some of the day to day activities include: taking phone calls, helping prospective guests learn about rafting, booking guests, interacting face to face with guests, explaining the trip, general day to day bookkeeping tasks, taking payment and emailing customers.

Requirements:

  • Some experience with Microsoft office
  • Experience handling phone calls and questions
  • Class 5 drivers license
  • Great personality and the ability to think on your feet
