White Water Raft Guide

Map Marker Location: Wells Gray Provincial Park, Clearwater British Columbia

Calendar Start Date: Either May 1st or May 15th 2019

Dollar Rate of pay: $20-25 per hour

Job Description: 
Riverside Adventures is looking for an experienced raft guide for the upcoming 2019 season. This person will be tasked with customer safety on the river and as such will have the necessary experience and qualifications. Some of the day to day activities of a raft guide include: before trip preparation, equipment checks, meal preparation, safety talk, safe movement of customers around the river features, collecting and washing gear used, guide meeting and helping in the training of inexperienced guides. Wage depending on experience.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 4 years in the industry with guiding experience on High Volume Class IV and V rivers.
  • Strong Kayaking skills an asset
  • Wilderness First Aid 50hr (80hr preferred), OFA level 3 will also be considered
  • Swiftwater Rescue Technician (or equivalent)
  • Valid class 5 drivers license (class IV preferred).
  • Supply your own river gear (pfd, helmet, river knife, throw bag, flip line and cold weather apparel)

Safety Kayaker / Guide in Training

Job Description: 
Riverside Adventures is looking for an experienced kayaker for the upcoming 2019 season. This person will be tasked with customer safety on the river and as such will have the necessary experience and qualifications. Some of day to day activities of a safety kayaker/guide include: before trip preparation, equipment checks, helping with meal preparation, learning safety talk, aiding in the safe movement of customers on the rafts around the river features, collecting and washing gear used and guide meetings. Wage depending on experience.

Requirements:

  • Minimum class IV kayaking skills (must be very comfortable)
  • Rafting experience an asset but not required
  • Wilderness First Aid 50hr (80hr preferred), OFA level 3 will also be considered

Office Staff / Shuttle Driver

Dollar Rate of pay: $16 per hour

Job Description: 
Riverside Adventures is looking for someone experienced with office tasks such as using Microsoft office, taking payment from customers and making forms are filled out properly. This person will also be tasked with shuttling the rafting van from the put in site to the take-out site. Some of the day to day activities include: taking phone calls, helping prospective guests learn about rafting, booking guests, interacting face to face with guests, explaining the trip, general day to day bookkeeping tasks and taking payment.

Requirements:

  • Some experience with Microsoft office
  • Experience handling phone calls and questions
  • Class 5 drivers license
  • Great personality and the ability to think on your feet
